About the Job

Commercial Sales Representative

Full Time, In-Person – 816 55th Ave NE, Calgary AB, T2E6Y4

NanoTess is one of Canada's fastest-growing healthcare innovation scale-ups.

Built on social enterprise values, our skin and wound care technology is used by clinicians and patients across Canada, and we hear remarkable stories of healing every day.

Now, as we grow across Canada and into international markets, we are looking for a commercial sales representative who can turn access into adoption, repeat use, and sustainable revenue.

You will focus first on markets and accounts where key barriers, such as coverage, formulary or procurement pathways, regulatory requirements, distribution, or commercial agreements, have already been addressed. Your job is to make the most of that access by building trusted customer relationships and converting qualified opportunities into durable business.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both creating opportunities and following them through close, implementation, reordering, and expansion.

How you sell and lead matters. The work we do touches people's lives. You will bring urgency without pressure, confidence without noise, and a person-first approach that earns trust with customers, partners, and teammates.

Here's what you'll own

  • Build sustainable revenue. Own a defined territory, channel, or account portfolio and deliver against revenue goals by developing new business, increasing utilization, and creating reliable repeat-order patterns.
  • Prioritize where access is ready. Concentrate effort on markets and accounts where coverage, formulary, procurement, regulatory, distribution, or contracting pathways make near-term adoption possible. Use evidence and commercial judgment to avoid spreading effort too thinly.
  • Create and close opportunities. Prospect by phone, email, referral, event, and field activity; qualify fit and timing; lead discovery; manage objections; develop the business case; and secure a clear purchasing decision.
  • Navigate complex buying groups. Map and engage clinicians, end users, champions, operational leaders, procurement teams, administrators, and economic buyers. Build alignment around both customer needs and the practical path to purchase.
  • Enable distributor performance. Build productive relationships with distributor leaders and field representatives, align on target accounts, prepare joint calls, share useful tools and evidence, and maintain clear follow-through on opportunities.
  • Stay engaged after the sale. Coordinate with customer enablement and internal teams to support an effective handoff, monitor early adoption, address obstacles, and identify opportunities for reordering or broader use.
  • Manage the pipeline with discipline. Keep CRM records, stages, stakeholders, values, probabilities, next steps, and close dates current. Provide credible forecasts and use pipeline reviews to decide where time will create the greatest return.
  • Bring the market back to NanoTess. Share customer needs, objections, competitive patterns, access gaps, and adoption insights with marketing, operations, quality, customer enablement, and leadership so that commercial decisions stay grounded by customer insights.
  • Sell with care and integrity. Communicate accurately, respect the realities facing customers and patients, and create momentum through relevance and trust, not pressure.

Here's what success will look like:

  • Revenue grows within priority territories, channels, and account groups where access pathways are already established.
  • More eligible accounts move from available access to first order, active use, repeat ordering, and expansion.
  • The pipeline contains qualified, well-understood opportunities with clear stakeholders, next steps, timing, and forecast confidence.
  • Distributor representatives are focused on the right accounts and equipped to advance opportunities effectively.
  • The time from access readiness to first order, and from first order to repeat use, continues to improve.
  • Customer commitments are met, implementation issues are surfaced early, and commercial relationships are built to last.

What our ideal candidate looks like:

  • You bring three to five years of successful, quota-carrying business-to-business sales experience, including responsibility for developing pipeline and closing revenue.
  • You have sold in a complex environment involving multiple stakeholders and decision makers. Experience in healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or another regulated market is helpful, but not required.
  • You have a track record of building more than one-time transactions: you understand account activation, adoption, retention, repeat purchasing, and expansion.
  • You can evaluate commercial readiness and focus on opportunities where access, timing, customer need, and revenue potential come together.
  • You are comfortable picking up the phone, initiating new relationships, leading customer meetings, asking for the business, and following through when the path becomes complicated.
  • You can work effectively with distributors or channel partners while maintaining clear ownership, accountability, and visibility into the end-customer opportunity.
  • You use a CRM consistently, maintain an accurate pipeline, and can explain your forecast using evidence rather than optimism.
  • You are organized, resilient, and able to manage a portfolio of accounts without losing sight of the few priorities that will create the greatest impact.
  • You can work independently in ambiguity, but you also know when a missing tool, process, or document is limiting scale, and you are willing to help build it.
  • You communicate technical and commercial ideas in clear, practical language and bring a thoughtful, person-first approach to every customer interaction.
  • You are legally authorized to work in Canada, able to work in person from our Calgary headquarters, and willing to travel as customer and distributor activity requires.

Here's what you can expect from NanoTess aside from salary and benefits:

  • A meaningful leadership mandate with the opportunity to shape how NanoTess grows.
  • A hands-on role where your judgment, initiative, and direct contribution will be visible.
  • A fast-paced workplace where priorities evolve as we learn and scale.
  • A collaborative team that cares deeply about the people affected by our work.
  • An opportunity to build relationships across Canada and international markets.
  • A chance to help more people access technology designed to reduce barriers to healing.
